Field based Policy position with biotech

A well-established pharmaceutical company is on the cusp of launching their first specialty product and they are re-adjusting their payer team territories and adding a new position to their team.

My client is profitable, well managed with consistent year over year revenue increases.  This position will be autonomous in nature with a manager who wants to point you in the right direction and let you figure out how to execute.

They have a number of products on the market currently and a robust pipeline.  Adding up all of those factors means this could be a long term opportunity with growth potential.

This position will be focused on working with the payers to gain coverage policies as well as formulary and pricing negotiations.  In addition, there are responsibilities with PBMs, PPOs and specialty pharmacies as well.  This position will cover MN, IL, IN, MI, OH and IA.

Background of the ideal candidate:

  • Experienced in complex reimbursement and sales channels
  • Experience with both policy and formulary discussions with payers
  • CNS experience is a strong plus
  • Successful track record of coverage policy and formulary wins
  • Strong language skills
  • Experience developing and facilitating training programs
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
  • 6+ years pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience
  • 4+ years of managed care account management required
