Managed Care MSL-Oncology expansion position

[wpvideo gvZjaZbq]

A billion dollar pharmaceutical company is creating a unique and hybrid role to support the launch of several oncology products.  One of those is a highly regarded and “hot” product in the oncology space.  The company realizes a new approach to payers will be needed to communicate the benefits of the product.

This is an expansion position and it is a great opportunity to join an established team and company while working with a pre-launch drug.  The company is bringing a more sophisticated approach to the payers and focusing on clinical, pharmacoeconomic and health economic information to assist in coverage decisions.  My client believes that a team approach is the best approach and will work with advocacy groups and individuals who can influence payers.

This is a great opportunity to work with an established company who is bringing to market a great product.  This position also reports into a great person who takes her responsibility as a manager seriously and focuses on the development of her team.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Determining the best groups and individuals to establish relationships with who can partner with my client to communicate the clinical and health economic benefits of their products.
  • Work cross functionally with other groups in the organization to create scientific and clinical communications to payers.
  • Partner with organizations to share scientific information about the product.
  • Work on special projects as needed

Background of a great candidate:

  • PharmD, M.D. or PhD is required
  • Extensive experience working with and calling on government and commercial payers.
  • 8-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or payer industry.
  • Experience with communicating pharmacoeconomic, health economic and clinical information to payers.
  • Oncology experience is strongly preferred.
