Transform oncology decision making

Imagine the power you have in your smartphone compared to 5 years ago. You have the power to find virtually any piece of information available. Do you need directions to the closest antique bookstore that has an autographed and first edition printing of To Kill A Mockingbird? You have the power to find that. Do you want to know the average height of a civil war soldier? You have the power to find that as well.

Cancer patients generate tremendous amounts of data as they move through the treatment process. Capturing these data and drawing useful insights from them present a challenging problem to every care provider. Most are ill-equipped to use these data to measure and improve patient outcomes.
My client’s mission is to solve this problem. They are focused on building a platform to transform clinical and operational data from providers into information that is analyzable, queryable, and useful. They’re hoping to put these data into the hands of researchers, physicians, and payers in order to improve outcomes for patients.

They have recruited the brightest minds from organizations like Google, Microsoft, and Massachusetts General Hospital to create an oncology data platform and they are in need of an Oncology Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical and hands on knowledge of oncology treatment.

This position is critical as you would be the clinical expert and working closely with their team of software engineers and marketing group.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the clinical oncology expert within the organization.
• Work collaboratively with the team to identify the most valuable clinical data points.
• Use your clinical experience in oncology to provide guidance on the interpretation of data.
• Provide feedback to engineering and product teams on the development of clinical tools.

Background of the ideal candidate:
• The right person for this role has been on the frontline of oncology care, appreciates the value of data, and wants to improve the information available to those who need it.
• Experience in the hands on treatment of oncology patients.
• Experience as a Oncology Nurse Practitioner strongly preferred.
• Extensive oncology clinical knowledge.
• Ability to understand Electronic Medical Records and EMR systems. Technology oriented. No need to know the difference between Python, C and C++ but understanding EMR systems, databases and the ability to explain my client’s product is important.

My client is a startup and values it’s employees and realizes they are the sum of the parts. They provide an excellent benefit package, base salary, bonus and equity to attract the best talent available.

I’m really excited to go into detail with you when we speak about their working environment, benefits and the where this company sees itself in a year or two.
